    Hiya Chas...

It was a great night in The Everyman on Friday, I never got in Saturday as it was chokka..
I'd already got what I wanted though so didn't really care...

It was good to see Billy in there, I normally take pics of him at other places with The Undertakers..
I never recognised him at 1st without a guitar around his neck... ..

    Thanks Chas..

I remember the Undertakers too. So odd to think we would go in for about 3/6d and see the Beatles, Undertakers, Rory Storm, Billy J. Gerry Marsden, the Big 3, Swingin' Blue Jeans etc. (not THESE all in one night but the same thing. There were so many groups. I consider myself very lucky.

The only Chants I remember was a vocals only group who came on one night and the Beatles came on with them and explained this was not about THEM!! John, Paul and George squashed themselves against the walls of the stage so we could not really see them, well we could but only from an odd angle and these kids sang. Their harmony was great. They were a black group. I wonder if it is the group you mean

    Cool

They were the same Chants, record was " If They asked me I could write book". Eddie Amoo, Chris Amoo, Ofanchi and the Real Thing are all linked in some way with the Chants in my mixed up brain cells.Chris Amoo also went on to dog breeding and was a Crufts winner some time ago.

Oh good. Shame they did not get swept along with the rest of the groups the Beatles recommended after they got famous. I know they liked them as they backed them that night. It was the only time I saw them.

Is this on u-tube? I was in the front row for one filming and the director/camera guy asked me to move as I would not scream for the Big 3. I told them it was not our habit to scream for groups we did not like because there was a camera there and that was that!!!

I always thought they came across like a New York doo-wop band from the 50's,which though I think it sounded great, was maybe thought a bit old-fashioned,at the time?

They were a little different from the rest at the Cavern, not rock for sure. I have to say. It was long ago so I need to Google them and see if I can hear them. I just remember great harmony but never saw them again, nor did I think of them until now!
