Saw two of them again at the bottom of Lode Lane, honestly they looked like they were in a world of their smiling and chatting to each other, I thought they were skipping holding hands at one point.

I only found out the other day that we have got a community policeman in the Dingle, but in the 5 years I have been here, I've never clapsed my eyes on him.

    Busy, copper on yer beat,

    with yer elephantine feet.

Why the batton, why the bike ?

    Why the walky, talky mike.

When you get to heaven's gate,

take those bleedin' boots off mate.

I think the above was by Roger McGough (Maybe Chris G will know ?)

Reminds me of a similar tune that Ronnie Barker done in porridge..
    Do you see yon' screw
    with his looks so vein
with his brand new keys on his brand new chain
with a face like a ferret and a pea for a brain
And his hand on his whistle in the mornin'.

Jacqui Smith yesterday announced a dramatic rise in the number of Special Constables.

At the same time, the Government's commitment to recruit 24,000 Community Support Officers has been dropped.

The move has been seen as a tacit admission that recruitment of CSOs - given the nickname 'plastic police' because they receive less training and have fewer powers than regular officers - has stalled.

It is very difficult to recruit specials and even more difficult to get them to do anything. In my experience they have sat in police stations "training" all night especially if they dont happen to like the area that they work in. Once again the Home Secretary is making it up as she goes along. We've been there and done that. Didn't work!

Would be better If they trained Police to become more like Batman.

Culd u imagine the problems with that Max? There'd be loads of arguing over who's the top batman, who gets the batmobiles etc.

You would also need a Alfred for each batman. That would cost a lot.

We could do with loads more of these on the beat (if we can't have 'real' police officers. I live by the swing park in Wavertree and we often get 50 plus drunk teenagers in the park.

So more police officers will solve that? No what solves Youth Crime and Disorder is to tackle the root of the problem and that is cheap entertainment a trip to the cinema is 6 times that of supermarket larger.

The way to solve youth problems is to ask the youth what they want/need and it has worked in other towns and cities.

    I'm not starting a Nark,
Do you worship at ANFIELD or Goodiston park?

Lol true, egos will cause chaos.

I think It's technically legal to be a real life batman with citizens arrest as long as you don't assault them I hear.

They can do up the Ford Focuses as Batmobiles.

I would be an awesome batman but not a good Bruce Wayne as I'd need a wig since my hairs slowly receding.

Every Batman needs their Alfred he's a sage who's wise and money shouldn't be an Issue. Michael Caine should be cloned for this task.
