Default UNSEEN AND UNPUBLISHED - THE ZODIAC PUB - NETHERLEY - 1977

We are fortunate in Liverpool that the likes of the LRO, Harry Ainscough and Freddy O'Connor to name but 3 have photographed many of the bygone public houses. They influenced me to capture what was left a few years ago and with other contributors, there are now 1,180 pub photo pics on my site.

This one of the Zodiac near Naylorsfield Drive in Netherley was captured in 1977 and contains some kids that would be about my age now. I thought it was worth an airing in case anybody recognises themselves or their one time mate.

I could have dated that pic even if you never gave the years, this is a typical 70's pic and aside from the kids clothing the structure of the pubs facia gives the years.

Thanks for the comments folks, took me back in time there with your chart memories. Christmas No1 of course - Mull of Kintyre

Spike, it's why I thought it was worth posting this pic, I thought somebody somewhere might know these kids. My wife and mates had their photo taken by a random stranger with a camera back in the late 70s (imagine that now) rather like when photographers who have had recent exhibitions took photos and are now looking for these kids who have grown up. Her one hasn't surfaced as yet though

I wish, they were the highest paid staff apart from the Manageress/assistan Manager.

Tell us more hey...ok...The food was naff, the wage was shocking, camp life was awful you had to go outside camp for a better nightlife.
The only thing that was free was your shally or mine, which ment instant dissmisal if caught.
You got yer wages on friday...come Monday yer were skint because of the low wage....if yer poured petrol down on the floor of the chally the cockroaches came out on motorbikes.
Its a sad life working in those ex army barracks...it was up in Filey North Yorkshire and it got closed down some years due to it being too near the cliffs that where badly eroding...houses were actually falling down the cliff into the sea.
