Yes, I Am a Name-Dropper

Barack Obama, Michelle, Hillary, Mamie, and Jackie
-- that's one U.S. President and four First Dames.
Some monickers are deadly serious, others wacky,
but is there any end to any list of names?

The Dalai Lama, Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King,
Nelson Mandela, Ebenezer Scrooge, and Mickey Mouse,
some names are real and some merely fictional things,
but would you invite any of them over to your house?

Salvador Dali, Liz Taylor, Mick Jagger, and Superman,
Desperate Dan, Christopher Robin, and Winnie the Pooh,
Jimi Hendrix, Sukie, Snookie, and Gloria Estefan,
some disposable as a toy and others sticky as glue.

Lady Gaga and Alex Baldwin (surely, a name-dropper, he!),
Madonna, Charlie Sheen, Charo, Buffalo Bill, and Zorro,
Mel Gibson, Henry the Eighth, the Gal from "Glee" --
if you aren't born with a name you like, you can borrow.

Jack the Ripper, the Green Hornet, the Caped Crusader,
Joan of Arc, Larry King, Ted Bundy, Alexander the Great,
David and Goliath, Adam and Eve, Jesus, and James Spader:
some of them giants; others forgettable, they hardly rate.

Where do you fit in this spinning universe of names?
Charles Baudelaire, The Beatles, Francis Scott Key.
How often is your name dropped, are you in the game?
Good Queen Bess, Vice President Joe Biden, and Me!
