Very fine, Kev! Keep up the good work with your cycling. I remember from my cycling adventures around Merseyside that it was a lot of fun!

Good for you Kev! Did that same trip myself many years ago! Now do it via the Runcorn bridge, Parkgate, West Kirby, then back to Garston via the ferry. (Wish I could join you!!!. but got rid of my old Hercules Kestrel many years ago).

Cheers Norm, have got up feeling a bit tired but cycling to and from work has prepared me well. I've become a bit attached to my bike too, might have to give it a pet name

Poor old bike has a bit of an identity crisis - part red and part blue.

Will be there next weekend at Thurstaston in my Caravan. Of all the places around the country i stay at, the Wirral is one of my favourites. That is one hell of a ride too Kev. Ive only done the section from West Kirby to Parkgate and that nearly killed me! Wanted to take my canoe on the Marina at West Kirby and got the prices the other day from the council. £8.40 per day!

Get youself a sports bike Kev you`ll find it much easier with narrow tyres. Mountain bikes are alright for rough terrain. This is a couple of my lads at West Kirkby in the 70`s

    Hi Joe,

I have recently put on some slick mtb combo tyres that are smooth on the inside where the tyre rolls and have a mtb tread on the outside. They are super fast! And silent too :-)
