Thanks, I beleive planning for flats was turned down which is why
the owners are not interested in the building, it is the land they want.
Feel free to use the pic if you want..

I saw that today too. There are signs around it showing the company that's performing the demolition. It's a shame really, that would be a nice looking building if it had been looked after. It has some interseting sculptures around it.

That's a delightful building which should be protected and reused. Clearly it didn't work as a pub/bar. Any suggestions any one?

The Old Bill - I didn't know it was closed just shows how long it is since I've been down that way.

Went to that pub once or twice a long time ago.

Another entry for my," Grotspots", this should be Grotarea
Townsend lne by Lower Breck Rd
Years ago this used to be a great area, I remember what is nlow
the health club(closed) used to be an ice cream parlour.

This shot is on the corner of Toensend and Lower Breck.
The name was origionaly the Cockwell Inn, no seriously, but
they changed it for obvious reasons.

Yep, used to be Grand National along the road which has changed name i think then onto this one and then onto Anfield for the game.

Used to be a Belhaven owned pub and had a drinking corridor from the left hand door on that pic to a back room i think and the main public bar on the right hand side of the pic.

Notice they've started to demolish this over the weekend - the green fencing had been up for a while, but the diggers were being put into use on Sunday... (amazing how quickly it was coming down).

It was indeed Champion Sports, they used to have loads of
trainers, footy boots in the windows. Opposite side of the road
apart from Sayers and Lloyds chemist, used to be Jonses, they have
    scaffold up now.
