I do recall seeing the gunning down of LH Oswald by Jack Ruby [your own John Peel was there at the time] LHO looked more dazed than crazed to me.
It is over egging it to allude that JWL was a threat. Martyrdom is seldom the answer to quieting things down.

Yes, you are right Ronijayne. There will be ( and have been) many who come out of the woodwork to cash in on the life and death of Lennon - just as they have done with theories about other big names such as Marilyn Monroe.

I did not read it, there are tons of books and documentaries about John's assassination and it is people making a ton of money. I used to read them all and saw the documentaries, they were rot and all written by people who had never even met him. He was for a very short while 'in with' Abbie Hoffman (I met him, boring) and Jerry Rubins etc (Chicago 7) but he saw it for what it was and came out quickly. He knew he was being followed and his phone was tapped but that was then and by the time he died he had moved on. John evolved in his political thoughts and I hate to see all these people making so much money out of him by doing a 'what if....happened'

It is what it is. A crazed guy who is still crazy but now says he understands it was a horrible thing. The voices have stopped telling him to do things. This is costing the tax payers millions to keep him locked up, security as the other prisoners want to kill him, and a psychologist for all these years. Don't forget, if you know ANYTHING at all about it, you know he had a list of people he wanted to kill, it was in his hotel room. It included Liz Taylor and Paul McCartney. I am sure you know Paul was one of the top of the list people and he (I neither say not type his name) was booking for London when he read an article that said John lived in NYC and walked around every day, especially in the park!! He changed plans, John was not even high up on his list. Fate!! Tragic. Devastating.................I miss him

Please don't let these people make money from his death anymore. I spent a fortune on these books and all the theories can be disproved very easily but the books sell, even when disproved they bring money and fame to the writers.

Agreed. A lot of people want to believe conspiracy theories. Likewise, a lot of people blame the rest of the world for their own ills. "It's not my fault. They're to blame." A sick way to live one's life.
