    Your right George it is Alcock Buildings so the name plate says. The height is 28 feet 2 1/2 inches

    The pic says Alcock Buildings Kearsley St so it`s got to be industry possibly around Everton Valley. Cobbs Quarry ?

    Joe,I've already established where this building and courts was....see those clump of trees,well thats where the buildings were situated ie Alcocks Building and Courts,the courts had shops below and houses on top.

    Ged,you have a pic of this Alcocks Bulding? on your website showing the grapes pub on everton valley in the distance.

    Its just got Kirkdale Road on the 13.7.67

    I think we know where it is now George ,I think we are trying to find what the building with the chimney is. There was a rubbish destructer in the area. which might explain the chimney

    Thanks all. That photo Mandy is taken from Walton Road, looking down Furness St. The glass roof building just under the chimney is Wessy Road baths, the chimney possibly belongs to the wash house. The chimney on the Alcocks Buildings pic seems to be on a much taller building of about 6 storeys. It could be in this direction though so will get looking.

    Its not,Ged...because the chimney belongs to the upright building in your own pic ie its not the same chimney.

    The first pic was taken from Morley St., looking north towards Kearsley St. The 2nd pic was taken from the Morley St. end, further down the alley, looking NW towards the chimney belonging to the Phoenix Brewery. The Post Office was built on the site of Alcocks Buildings.
