    Default Where is this?

Not a quiz, as I haven't a clue either. Taken on 9th February 1905, it is a road described on the nameplate as Alcocks Buildings which ran between Morely Street and Kearsley Street. As you can see, the purpose of the photograph was to record the height of the building which is also on three more which go with it.

Is it George. I have a 1908 A-Z and none of those 3 streets mentioned are on it?

George is right Ged...both streets are still there ...I think Morley St is where Everton Valley post office is & Kersley Street is where the Phoenix pub is

Kearsley St ran down to the end of Foley St with the Phoenix pub on the corner, with Morley St the next street running to the same point there was a small lane where the pic might have been taken, before Smith St began.

There was also an Alcocks Court in the very same location and it had houses on top of each other, can't remember if the lower ones where shops? think they were.

You know the type,Ged like those that were on Walton Lane.

Well done, I will be putting more from this area on my site. It's a peculiar name for a street and here it is viewed from the opposite end. Without seeing a map further North than what I have, I don't know what the large building might be.
