Default Beetham West Crane - The 9th Climb

And I thought I was mad. Then London-based explorer 'Palace Fan' does the gib. Absolutely nuts. At about the time he reached the end, the clouds opened and the wind howled - we got soaked!

Bonkers we may be, but safety was an important issue. The guy at the end of the gib was wearing a full-body fall arrest harness, and was clipped to the crane at all times. Both the others were quite experienced as this kind of thing, having done the Millenium Dome pylons last year!!

Someone pointed out that in climbing this thing so many times I've climbed more than the height of Snowdon up it's ladders. I wonder how many times Everest the crane driver has done...
