    Default inside St Lukes

was ambling around town with the hubster today and St Lukes was open..
there was more bits of stained glass surviving than I thought there where. they are easier to spot from the inside.

    Now I'm jealous!
I wish there was some way of finding out in advance when it's going to be open.

    Great photos, qg.

see and you weren't bothered about seeing the inside

the sign outside says 12-3 (or 12-2 there were 2 different ones) Mon-to Fri.

I don't know how long it's open for though. it's a quid to go in. there's a strange quietness inside despite it's location and lack of windows. there were art students in there today sketching various bits of the church. there's also old photos of the church and the city during the blitz.

the entrance is on the Leece St side towards Berry St end of church.

    You're a star!

I love zooming in on stained glass.
Here's the Wayfarer's in Southport, again.

In the Metropolitan Cathedral you can get really close.

    Default St. Joseph's church doorway

With the demolition of the empty flats in the area, so stones are about and the stained glass windows have become a target. A fire was also set against the old door of the church. Nothing is sacred these days.

    Brill pics all.
It's nice to see stained glass work on show without bars/wire mesh covering them.

This is from the inside of a pub in Scarisbrick Avenue, Southport.
It has to be said that the extra colour comes from hanging baskets.
    But that's our secret!

    PS.
I've just noticed the top left corner.
    Is that a face?

The flowers showing through give it an interesting tapestry. I like it.
