    Default red road flats

I remember the red road flats from way back in the late 60s or early 70s. My relatives lived up in Townhead. The flats could be seen for miles. They were the tallest in Europe once, don,t know about in todays climate.

Sorry about that link I posted up Twiz, you're right, nearly choked myself for different reasons .

Glad somebody has put the proper link up though and they like it.

A lot of the pictures are by individuals such as Harry Ainscough, Joe Devine and Mike Murphy who had the great presence of mind to capture the scenes before they were demolished and rather than them fade away in a drawer or box, they kindly let me show them.

My books concentrate on the 30s style corporation tenements though.

    Thanks for your interest.

just catching up on threads as I'm a newbie, I used to work in Mersey House too! I loved the buckets as a kid and was thrilled when I found out I could see them from my office window.

I spent 18 months in the post room before getting a transfer to Deysbrook.

    Default Website new page.

I've just added the first 10 pics to a new page on my website that weren't really catered for before.

James Street looked better then than now.

Someone posted cool Images of Liverpool from 150 years ago according to the user on SSC. Looks like he might delete them soon though.

    Thanks Max.

I don't usually look at that site.
All the chap said was they were glass slides passed down through the family.
He didn't make any claims that they were taken by any of his family.
Poor chap only wanted to share them, but a certain person is going on and on and on and on and............................................... ....
