    Here is another previously unpublished photograph of Lark Lane in 1893. The horse-drawn omnibus is advertising the Liverpool Overhead Railway, which had commenced services in January of that year.     Thanks Colin! Great to see that old pic!! The garage door at right of picture was Logans Garage in the mid 1950's I drove taxis from there around about 1957-59, probably was the stable for the horse's in the earlier period as I remember that there were stall fastening , irons etc on the walls at the rear of the garage. Now taken over as part of Marantz restaurant I believe. I was living in Hadassah Grove (just opposite at the time.

    Brilliant, Colin, and you're so right about the bars and restaurants - even Cabbages and Kings has gone now... And it's so true that "You don't know what you've got till it's gone"; at least the Amorous Cat bookshop is still there... Let's support it - or it won't be!
