Yet another brilliant addition to the site, well done Spike. Any more news on the actual location of the Bombed Broadgreen shelter?

Maybe just maybe? Mart has found a very good map from that time. Plus I have a new best friend called Norman who lived in the area during WW2. He is very helpful. We believe we may just have the spot.

Will get back to you on this one.

The dedication and love put into this site is commendable Spike , it's a good job we have you to care enough to preserve this important history .

Before I read anymore of these I gotta get my "hard boots" on. So sad some of these stories.
    Well done Spike.

Ah, so that's on the other side of Edge Lane to the 'Green' flats estate then.

Look at the Triangle circled on the Map Ged. Thats where we believe it is.

Follow the flats on the left. See the big tree at the end. Thats where I believe it was. The triangle on the map. You can see an entrance on the Queens Drive side. Of course in 1942 the shelter was gone, but nothing would have been built on it at that time.

We have been talking to two people who where kids back then who locate it near enough here.

Also notice the bend in the road of Edge Lane Drive has not changed much from then to now.

The map threw me as the layout back then was obviously different but I know where you mean, the Gardeners Arms end of Broadgreen Road.

The pic I posted with the big tree on the left. I think that is part of it. Why was that land not built on. It seems to go from the flats across to the flyover.

How do I dig up the flyover?
