Yes - totally inappropriate for the style of houses.

Those houses look horrible painted in that shade of blue. What makes it worse is that the tops of the walls are painted too ! There is far too much of the colour and it's not a good look.
You have to be careful with blue - it is a tricky shade to get right. It can only look good on the right style of house and the shade has to be the right one. Blue can look chic and smart or it can look very common !

French Navy can look good but on the right kind of house.

Those houses would look much brighter and modern if they were painted in different pastel shades perhaps!

They all need to be a nuetral colour to be made to look respectful and bring the street out of the dump it looks, once you start painting houses all colours of the rainbow they lowe the tone of the neighbourhood and people start backing away from buying or renting and thats a fact.

If they were all painted like Faulkner street they would enhance the street 3 fold....like this....

George have you noticed those doors dont open on that side of Faulkner street? They go in around the back.

There's a reason for it,Spikey...the garages are at the back of the houses...I mean whats the point of putting the car away and walking round the front to go in.

It`s not a bad colour if they only use it for the doors as here in Shaw St.
My pet hate is window frames and skirting boards done in anything other than white or natural wood

    Sorry but I disagree,Joe

Period house front doors should only be painted in two colous, either Black or Bottle Green but with a high standard gloss finish.
Anythin else and you have no sense of decorum.

If you're talking about Georgian houses, the classic colours include red,(dark) blue, and green!

I worked on the house that the woman is brushing the steps about 22 years ago and next door to the left just out of shot. That front door is for both houses.Behind the 'front door' of the house on the left is the kitchen.
