Hi Gerard, congratulations .some amazing images of the rioting posted there on your site ,just one observation & comment though,if i may....

The section is titled the Toxteth Riots 2011. Although a considerable portion of the violence has, so far ,indeed taken place in Toxteth ,so too has it taken place outside of Toxteth ,i.e .as you are well aware the last two nights has seen a significant proportion in Smithdown Rd and Lawrence Rd areas . I would describe this area as Wavertree or even the borders of Edge Hill. Strangely enough the Asda on Smithdown Rd announce themselves as Asda Sefton Park-however i wouldnt agree with that description .Sorry if this sounds picky or nit picking cos thats not the intention Gerard, its just that your desciption tends to draw comparison with ,and indicate it as a sequal to the Toxteth riots of the eighties, and as is clearly shown this disruption ,although having similarities, is certainly different in its origins. Something like maybe- The Liverpool Riots 2011- would deffo be more accurate.....what do you reckon Gerard . .....just my observations ,you can tell me to do one if you like though cos its your site afterall

Thank you very much Brian mate..
Thats very kind of you to say Bri..
    and I genuinely appreciate it..

I almost caused a riot getting this photo below...

I decided to walk from the crowd some 8 yards behind me to get this shot...
the other Matrix shot is taken even closer...

As I walked up to the Matrix police lads they took on rather aggressive stances toward me...they all turned into Robocop for a split second and the bottle started to go..(just a little bit like..!!..)..
I took my camera from around my neck and let them see me dangle it down by my side... the crowd started to shout "Say Cheese" and I could see the looks in the lads eyes and I was thinking what the f*** have I started here... I asked them loudly, pointing at the floor..."Can I come that close"...one of them walked toward me, banged his baton thing on the floor, and walked backwards to his spot... I smiled, said thank you... they dropped their guard and I got my photos... and went back the car trembling like I've never trembled before...

Press the 'view original' thingy to view larger..

This one is on Princes Avenue..

    Upper Parliament Street...

I tell ya what Gerard. You took better pics of the riot than most of the press. Cracker shots and so clear.
    Nice one.

Thats nice of you to say Ged.. thank you very much..

    Sevenstreets blog thing ?

I contacted them ages ago asking if they were interested in doing something
on some of my Liverpool photos... I got no reply from them..

The offer is still there for them if they want to do something..
on the people of Granby, or Liverpools homeless..
or exlclusive photos around Liverpools dockland...
an Interview with the people of Scottie Rd maybe, I could arrange that..
thats if they want to do something other than the fancy stuff
around Liverpool's cafe society and arty Rope Walk area events...

    Cheers...
