The first two photos look like paintings. Very good.

I wouldn't have got the name of the hairdressers !
Don't know the hair salons very well in Lewis's - I used to go to one called Elison Lee (or was it Ellis & Leigh ?? - Elison Lee I think ..)
anyway, it was in Gt Charlotte st.

My Dad...circa 1928.. Arley Street dutch cottages.

My Dad with his sisters Mary (Maro) left and Maggie..
pic taken inside the old dutch cottages they were born in on Arley St..Scottie Rd..
they lived right opposite the Non Pareil pub...
Found out recently tales of my grandads overcoat going in the pawnshop to buy jugs of ale from the Non Pareil...which my dad would have fetched for him.

My Dad was the quiet one in the family, I reckon I must take after him then..!
his brother, my uncle John was the lad...got some fantastic funny tales of our John..
growing up with his best mate from school days...Tommy 'Tacker' Comerford..

I reckon thats where old family friend Tommy got the start in life that led to his infamy..
Its all Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Johns fault ...

    Anyway, My Dad !!

I remember as a kid my dad scaring me with this big hole he had in his leg from where he was shot in the war..
luckliy for us my dad came home....
with a German Luger gun he took off a German soldier..
I have'nt got a clue how my dad got that gun..I was'nt told..and never asked.
I remember playing with that gun in my ninnies in Hopwood Gardens.
top landing right opposite The Brit pub...

his Dad, my grandad was even more lucky....
he survived a direct torpedo hit onboard The Empire Endurance..
which went down taking a lot of his mates....

My cous John Ellis is on the case finding loads of info out...
his dad was the well known blind John Ellis...

Cous John is finding all kinds out doing his research into the family tree M'larky...
some fascinating info about great grandmothers or something having their own Echo newspaper stall on Tithebarn St or somewhere in the 1940's or something and having loads of money...
shame she never left a will and left me a few bob..!

I hope to do a thing about my Family on my website when I get more info...
I have some great pics of my dad in his army uniform behind the lines in Belgium I think it is...
I have all his medals that I would never ever part with....
I'll be adding pics of them as well...
and other old Family pics I come across....

My Dad.. a Scottie Roader all his life...

and a hidden toilet I found that is like going back in a time machine..
Deco style.. spotless as if used yesterday..
and hasn't been open to the public for a long long time..
