    Interesting stuff BobEd.

I have never played on an oval table, but I once had a game of pool on a table in the corner of a pub where there was a button in the floor to have the table turn so you set-up your next shot. Not a great success.

Brilliant BobEd. A very local company to us and we did buy from there. My bro remembers the 1967 premises which backed onto Back Clare st. I had some of those pics already from the LRO but had not seen most of them nor this site. Brill.

I remember the old showroom they had the various stages of making crown green bowls from a log of wood to the finished article in the window.
Bought a set off the new premises costing £32 but made of the new Vitalite plastic, much cheaper than than the wooden ones and they didn`t lose their bias as the wooden ones did.
They had to be returned to be corrected after so many years.
Still have my plastic ones and 2 sets of woods

An interesting post, and while reading it, I was interested to see the Echo reference. As a child, apart from Curly Wee and Gussie Goose, a favourite of mine was the series of sporting charactetures. Can anyone enlighten me as to the artist?
