Default National Dock Labour Board and A.E. Smith Coggins

I am trying to find people who might have worked for National Dock Labour Board or A.E. Smith Coggins for the family of a man has died of mesothelioma an asbestos disease. He worked for National Dock Labour Board from 1961 to 1967 and then for A.E.Smith Coggins from 1968 to 1973. I am trying to find people who might have worked with him who might tell us about working conditions at the time and how he might have been exposed to asbestos during his work.

If you think you might help and e-mail me I can tell you his name to see if you remember him. frances.robinson@btinternet.com

    Thank you

    Fran

My guess is that he worked as a lagger on the boilers, where they used the stuff for insulation. Being exposed to it on a daily basis, back then when the dangers weren't understood and proper particle-filter respirators weren't used, wasn't good at all.

Good luck in your search for more information.
