My first school, the original one in banks road looked a bit Colditz especially the courtyard with the sycamore tree and the open air toilets.......lovely in a wet winter...complete with iron foundry next door and gas works downt the road, cough cough

Apart from the excellent book on the school's history by Barbara Price, the Garston Local History Society in conjunction with St Michael's Church have republished the book " The Story of Garston and its Church" by Rev Swift. This book has an interesting chapter on the history of Garston Church of England School.
