    Default JUDY

Yes, it definitely was Judy - and you can see a photo of her gravestone on the Princes Park Flickr site:

SORRY - THIS IS INCORRECT! SEE LATER POSTING BELOW...

    Hello empeebee

The URL takes me to the group but I don't see the gravestone despite searching on "Judy", "donkey" and "grave" -- can you help?

    Thanks

    Default Princes Park Donkey

Hi Chris (and anyone else whom I've led astray!),

The photo I was thinking of was in a Flickr collection, but not the Group Pool that I gave the link to. It should have been this URL:

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/tomke_lask/2314524178/

I also have an image of my own, which I shall try and attach here.

Even now floral tributes are occasionally offered in memory, often in spring and usually as daffs strewn around the grave. This year someone came with planted bulbs, complete with pot!

Awwwwww! Judy's grave was part of my childhood really. I remember my bike breaking as I peddled down the hill then I landed next to her grave.

I'm wondering if anyone has, or even knows of the existence of, a photo of Judy? It was only 1920 (or 1926? - the inscription is unclear on my photo of the grave) that she died so surely there must be some family photos somewhere of children having rides in the park? The Princes Park Flickr group would be very interested to have any such images. Please post here or go to: http://www.flickr.com/groups/princes_park/

Oh I am in tears. What memories (not of the donkey in 1926 before any of you bright sparks nip to your keyboard!! gr) This grave was part of my childhood. My Granmother lived in Treborth Street so I was in the park almost daily and the memories of the grave came flooding back. I now remember the little hut type shop which sold ice cream and sweeties.
