    Default Grovehurst Ave, Dovecot

Does anyone out there have any info about what is happening to the above?

It must be nearly 10 years since the houses were knocked down. All they've done is put a fence around the area and completely ignored it.

I've wrote to the local MP Stephen Twigg (2 months ago) and he hasn't even had the common courtesy to reply.

I would be very grateful if anyone could shed some light on this.

    Kind Regards.

Cheers mate, that's all I could find out. It just seems a stock answer when in fact nothing has touched that land for many years.

Maybe it's going to be used for Liverpool's new ground eh?

Dovecot,Huyton has always been a "no go zone" area for developers due to it being an unsavoury ward,3 in 5 people are on benefits,I think at one time it had/has the highest rate of single mothers.
The Bluebell estaste is a classic example of this, basically no one wants to live there and those that are livin there want out of the area,at least thats what I have heard from some residents that I know up there.

I did at one time used to booze around there ie Eagle&Child,Bow&Arrow and the one on the corner across the road from prinny drive I think?

Loads of pubs have sadly gone from the area. The Eagle, The Farmers, The Dovecot, The Hillside, Bow & Arrow, The Princess, The Knotty Ash (currently boarded up) and now the Boundary on Pilch Lane. There are most probably a few more too.
I grew up in Dovecot and still live close by. It really is so sad to see it deteriorate every year. The biggest eye-sore now has to be Grovehurst Ave, and I'd love to know what plans the powers that be have for it.

Does anyone have any old photos of Dovecot?
