    Boys and girls, can anyone supply any pictures or information for my dear mother and grandmother and grandfather (RIP)?????

    The street is still there opposite the RC Cathedral.

    Here's how it appears on the 1848 OS map.
    (Liverpool Sheet 30. Reprint by Alan Godfrey.)
    Note the spelling.

    I think Walnut Street (shown on Philip's map above) still survives as a 'street' of sorts within the university of Liverpool campus. I'm less sure about Chestnut Street. I think it might have been built on in more recent times by the university?

    Yeah it was, flattened in the mid sixties for the Uni

    There's still a little bit of Chestnut Street left,here it is...

    ...before the uni extended the baths a few years ago,the section to Mulberry St also remained.

    I lived in number 5 Chesnut Street up until it was demolished to make way for car parking for the Uni

    It was actually spelt Chesnut Street, there was no "T" in it ...............Have fond memories of "Chezzie" xx
