I've heard a person moaning that they are overpriced for local people but I doubt they are aimed at locals.

I wouldn't pay that much for a flat

in fact I wouldn't buy any flat.

It's a house or nothing for me .. can't see the point of buying a flat - 'specially the ones for sale in large houses - - the ones which are in effect, what used to be known as 'rooms'

News from last month (16th Oct) which I'd missed

Crews tackle fire at tower block

More than 40 firefighters have tackled a fire that has left damage valued at thousands of pounds at a newly renovated 16-storey tower block.

Fire crews were called to the 11th floor of Heysmore Heights at the junction of Croxteth Road and Sefton Park Road in Liverpool on Monday night.

At one stage the heat became so intense firemen were forced to withdraw. Two were taken to hospital with burns.

The building was being renovated and there was no-one inside at the time.

Watch Manager Dave Hughes said: "Because there's concrete above and below the fire the heat has nowhere to escape and it becomes intensely hot and can be very dangerous."

    'Near completion'

It took the fire crews about four hours to bring the blaze under control.

The flat the fire was based in has been completely gutted by fire and a further five flats on the same floor have been severely damaged by smoke as have several flats on the upper floors.

The 16-storey tower block was under renovation and was near completion.

It is not yet known how the fire started and investigation teams have been sent to the scene.

    Default Tower blocks

These old blocks scrub up well when stripped back and reclad.
It was a disgrace that similar blocks were pulled down around the city when its obvious that it is quite easy to totally reform them.
The second block in Marybone has been refurbed recently as well and is looking good.

Kirkby high rise flats from Old Rough Park

    Willow Rise private flats

    Beech Rise private flats

Beech and Willow are recently renovated but they don`t seem to attract buyers by the looks of the tenants on the window sills,
The three blocks in the top pic are supposed to be getting renovated by a housing trust
