Default looking for info on GEORGE CRIST b 1861 liverpool

    Hi,
Looking for some info on my ggg grandfather.
His parents were Edward Christ and Christiana Schluter, both born in Germany.
George was born in Liverpool along with his younger siblings Henry, Albert, Edward and Agnes.
His mother Christiana died of Typhus in 1873 and shortly afterwards his father Edward emmigrated to San Francisco with George's younger sister Agnes who was only about 3years old at the time. Edward left his other children behind and although it appears that his son Edward was sent to live with his uncle in Camberwell, the other children disappear from the 1881 census.
George then married Christina Paulina Hoag in 1884.
I am intrigued to know what happened to him and his brothers when their father left them in Liverpool in about 1873. George would have been 12 years old, Henry 11, Albert 7 and Edward 5.
Any info on them would be amazing. Or any ideas on why Edward would leave them behind.
    Thanks

Were Edward and Christiana born in Berlin ?...if so there is an Albert Christ aged 14 at school in Alameda,San Francisco, who was born in England...it states both parents born in Berlin
YOUR Albert is transcribed as Albert H Christ b june qtr 1866 Liverpool...I`ll see if there is a record for A.H.Christ in 1881....allan

Thanks, Edward was born in Berlin and Christiana was born in Hannover.
Edward re married when he was in San Francisco though, so maybe his new wife was born in Berlin.
I had always thought his sons stayed in Liverpool, mainly because I couldnt find them on the US census and George was married in Liverpool in 1884, but maybe he came back?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi,

I know that George Crist had a son Joseph Albert Crist (1898-1971) who married Mary Harvey (1895-1971) in Liverpool and they had a daughter Rita Winifred Crist (1925 - 1982). Rita maried William A McNeill and they had a daughter Valerie A McNeill.

Mary Harvey was my mothers aunt.

    Regards
    Paul Lynch
