I used to walk past this block at least twice a day when in senior school. It was on Fox St next to the Friary Church, pictured here by me in 1990. The curved building on the corner was originally a pub, all of this is now wasteland.

I've got loads of Seel St, both my own and LRO ones but this one, No.94 I took because it's where my mam and dad were living in from 1949-52 (in the cellar) when my brother was born in 1951. They were originally from the Gerard Gardens area then after he was born they moved back to L3 and Field St before moving to Holly St, in those mock tudor Eldon Grove type/era of houses until eventually Gerard Gardens itself when they came under demolition in 1968.

What a fantastic collection of buildings. Well done Ged, lots I haven't seen here.

We should start a discussion about what qualifies as a Georgian building, a Regency, etc... No, I'm only joking.

    Great stuff, thanks for posting.

Yes, what an eyesore. No class at all these planners.

What qualifies - ha ha exactly. Bluecoat Chambers is built in the style of Queen Anne for instance but hails from after her death. Yes, I think we've had this discussion before.

I was hoping you'd put the specific style [and exact date] under each photo, so we could debate it a little bit further? He he... I'm joking...can you imagine? Best not open that other thread again.

Great record Ged, funny how you only notice some buildings when they've been photographed? I must have walked past at least 30 of these, without really seeing them.

dazza, I uplifted my posts onto here from this site: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1246805 as I felt Yo deserved them. However, Golden Vision has posted dates with this pics as he's into the Georgian scene and has looked into it a lot more thoroughly than me.

Thanks Ged, excellent work again. I was only joking about the classification bit...because of the other thread.

Fine work, Ged. Spread the wealth. A great set of photographs. They make for an exciting record of Liverpool's remaining Georgian architecture. Bravo.
