Default What was this building, originally?

Walking around Great Howard st,and took a closer look at this building,on the corner of Walter st.which has been empty for some time! I noticed that underneath the windowguards, and recent double glazing, there was some stained glass, which seemed unusual, and thought that maybe it was a bank,at one time? Can anyone confirm,or otherwise?
