However, occasionially a ripple of interest enlivened the humdrum routine of our chapter of the street brigade, when along the (fairly) traffic free area around Chatsworth St. would appear a large, pastel coloured convertible, driven by the ever cheerful Joe Brown, teeth and hair to the fore,top down in order to enjoy all the more the exaltations and expressions of goodwill offered by the ragged audience.
The Cockernee guitarist was enamoured of a local lass whom I understand went on to become Mrs Chirpy.
