    Default Superlamb Bananas

What is it? I am looking for information, but only I can find it:

The Super Lamb Banana statue by Taro Chiezo (1998) is seen here from the front and side. The yellow-painted scupture, part banana, part lamb, stands appropriately in front of the premises of Joseph P Lamb on Carpenters Row.

I am not sure, but I am thinking that its a statue representative of the Liverpool 2008. If it is true, I like to know somes questions, for example, why is a banana and a lamb representative of the city? What people think about the statue?

    Thank u!!

I believe it is to do when Garston docks used to import lots and lots of bananas before the last war, Marie. Add them to the importation of lambs you have the Super Lamb Banana!

Oh! And the Lamb Banana is more than a mere simple statue!

Most Liverpool people are very fond of Lamb Banana

There are a minority who say they don't like this sculpture but I think the majority are very fond of it.

I love it. I couldn't imagine L'pool without it now.

The Superlamb Banana was not made to represent 08 though the culture company have used their logo on it as they tend to hijack things like the Big History Festival and the Mathew Street festival that were here before.

The Superlamb banana is now outside the newer JMU building at the Tithebarn st, Vauxhall Rd and Hatton Garden junction and it has been lime green and purple depending on which charity or organisation rent it.

    Hi Lindy

I wasn't so fond of it at first but have grown to like it!

One, located as described above, moved from outside Joseph Lamp prior to the demolition of that site. There are hundreds of little replicas though in the 08 and gift shops etc...
