I wonder if people will agree with me. I have recently been to The Mersey Tigers basketball game at the Echo arena, and had a great evening out doing something a bit different. I love sport and have always loved watching football, but in a time that football is seemingly full of greed and run by corporations that now have decided it is economically irrational to charge less than a weeks rent to go to a game, It feels like I have been priced out of the market for watching live football.
So now I have turned to watching basketball, and for a tenner and a fiver for my son (who loves it by the way!) I have found a way to get my live sport fix. I now support The Mersey Tigers are Liverpool's only pro-basketball club and they are really successful. Winning two trophies in two years! Ok basketball is culturally a bit different to the traditionalism of football, but you cannot deny the entertainment and the feeling you get when a player wins the game for your team with a spark of genius! The Mersey Tigers say they "inspire through basketball" and I have certainly been inspired! Love to know what you all think!
