you don't have to pay to see whats there but do after-wards to look at in detail

I have just found 2 listings for my family in the 1911 trade directories:

Frederick Fellows Poole, Licenced victualler, 9 Goree Piazzas (this is Fred Jnr)

    and

Frederick Fellows Poole, Holdsworth Ernest & Co Commission Agents, 23 Washington Buildings Lower Castle st (this is Fred Snr)

Does anybody know if either of these chaps or businesses are listed anywhere else?
Did the Holdsworth Ernest Company exist prior and was it owned by somebody else? The name does not seem familiar in any way.
What is a Commission Agent? Both Freds were either in the pub or music hall business.

    Any help most welcome.
    Thank you

Hi mandy, I am stuck with some FH research and have found some people by the name of Morris onboard a ship bound for Liverpool in 1938. Their intended address is 21 Cowper Street, Liverpool. I wondered if it was possible to find out who lived at that address in 1938? It may help me fill in some important gaps.

    hiya Morris,
21 Cowper Street ,Bootle lived Thomas Israel........the surname is usually printed first so I think his name is "Israel Thomas" & it doesn't list an occupation for him
    hope that helps

I wonder if you could look up an address for me in the 1911 directory. It's 14 Castle Street in the city area. There should be a number of businesses and I'd like to know the names. Thanks for any help you can give. Steve

    What is a Commission Agent?
Years ago a Commision Agent was a' Bookie'! (now called Turf Accountant!) but could also refer to a person who acts on behalf of another, on commission!
