old Co-op dairy sign, Longmoor Lane/Longmoor Close Fazakerley

this is what the Bedford Rd one would have looked like before it was painted over.
this has survived, but the Lambanana has completely gone

this fabulous old Maypole Dairy sign has been uncovered on Scarisbrick New Rd, Southport. wasn't on show last time I was there. Hope the owners of the shop preserve it.

I have passed this hundreds of times and never noticed the name on it before. It must just need the light at the right angle to show it

Woolton Village this morning...it's very faded but I could make out the words ' C....et maker (assuming cabinet) and upholsterer....

    Front view....

This used to be the old Chandlers, I remember going in as a child with my Nan to buy soap, candles etc

I know this isn't an old shop but I havn't seen this name in years....They took down a sign the other week to reveal this........When did this chain of shops close/or was taken over?

Love Woolton Village and regularly used to go there as a friend had a business off Quarry Street. Can remember the quarry before the houses were built and the massive toy shop in the centre of the village - which is now a nightclub!!

I remember the toy shop! Before the toy shop it used to be the Co-Op, my Nan used to work there for a while before working in the Bear brand.

Just been through all of this great thread...Here's one...The sign in this very old picture of Bold Street shows a "BANK" sign upper left...well it's still there!!!

Unfortunately I haven't got a Digi-camera(yet)...but if one of you great photographers visit Bold street I'm sure you can capture it from the same spot...Right next to Concert street.
