A good few years now. I used to walk past it when I was on a training scheme down that way, and that was about 10 years ago... Unless I went through a time hole

Yeah, it's been open to the public for ages.
Not sure how many years but I used to take my son when he was younger. He went a few times - he had a bit of a craze on going there

My family has never mentioned it...

We went to the London one just after it opened (80's?) and it was very interesting.

Did this Liverpool one have a similar story - abandoned and locked up at the end of WWII, and discovered decades later in it's original condition?

I'll put it on the list for my Feb. trip....

An interesting article on the Western Approaches from an American author -

    http://www.historyarticles.com/western_approaches.htm

Seems well done, and talks about the 1.2 million GIs (2.1 in another section) that came in through Liverpool.

When Americans find out I am from Liverpool - it's interesting that a lot of the WWII veterans remember Liverpool, and the march from the Pier Head to Lime Street station...

I wondered why I met so many of them, but the 1.2 million number puts it into perspective.

Nice to see this memorial at the Pier head,is now more easily observed,as it used to be hidden by the bus stops, with a concrete litter bin underneath it!!

It's a bit plain, but nicely to the point.
