I take your point, but to be fair, Radio 4 did hand over the baton to Peter Sissons the other day, who presented a programme specifically on the Liverpool blitz. The point was made that, because of media censorship, the events in Liverpool were seriously under-represented. Only a 15-minute programme, but worth catching.
Based on the secret diary of Arthur Johnson, wartime archivist for the Post & Echo, Peter Sissons describes how the effects on the city were played down in the national news coverage at the time and how as a result even now many of the events are not given due recognition. Includes interviews with eye-witnesses.
