Hi Steve, the actual number of those killed in Liverpool was 2736 according to my sources. True St Luke's Church is also a memorial and there is Tom Murphy's memorial in the grounds of St Nicholas's Church - but it would be good to have some ceremony in recognition of the sacrifices made during the War.

yes these are just the ones buried in the communal grave at anfield
must admit the memorial is starting to look a bit rough even though
the lettering was redone last year. The origional idea was for on the
front of the mem to have the tyson smith liverpool coat of arms, that
is there, but the coat of arms on the left is missing as are the names
of the know dead which should be on the stonework of the long grave
