For those of you who might be wondering about the Frith Collection and its aims let tell you what I know.
Francis Frith was a Liverpudlian ,a wholesale grocer by trade,he sold the business for an emormous sum which enabled him to travel widely.In the late 19th century he set up a photography business and began the task of making photographic records of several countries. His first major endeavour was to photograph Great Britain, a work that took him 30 years to complete. By 1890 Frith had the greatest specialist photographic publishing business in the world.
