Maybe its an urban myth but I've heard people have walked across the Mersey at Oglet Shore area, anyone else heard of this?

I once rode through the small pond in Calderstones Park on my Mountain Bike only cause the previous summer it had dried out so I knew how deep it was

Yes Kev, it was talked about when I was a kid (many years ago!) but I believe it to be a myth! anyone who knows Oglet shore, with its eddy's and whirlpools, even at low tide would know just how dangerous this would be.
I do believe however, that the Mersey can be walked across, but you will need to travel up past Warrington and trace it's source!! Cheers All
