    Default Railway cottages in Fazackerly

Does anyone have any knowledge of where the railway cottages were situated in Fazackerly?
My cousin's ancestors lived in one in the late 19th century and we wondered if they still exist.

Hi Dollydee, and welcome to Yo!

I'm sure someone here will be able to help you. Just a small point of pedantry - it's actually spelt 'Fazakerley'.

The only evidence I can find is this snip fro the Bootle Times forum..

    "Hi all
The recently released 1911 census has my Grandfather (aged 1 and his family at 2 Campbell Cottages, which I understand where Railway Cottages. His occupation is down as apprentice iron turner working at the railway engineers.

I am guessing that this will be the Signal Works, and all that is left is Signal Works Road opposite Fazakerley Hospital ?

Anyone got any info on the Signal Works or who the railway company was ?"

Thanks all for your replies to my query re railway cottages -they sound the most likely as the family lived in Fazakerley and worked on the railway, but on the birth certificate my cousin has it just said "Railway cottages" for the address.
