    Default Britain's Park Story BBC4

Just watched Britain's Park story on BBC4

It's here on IPlayer until 13 Aug 2010

It covers Birkenhead and Sefton parks in some detail.

I always thought Birkenhead was the first public park in Britain but not so according to this programme. It was well down the list.

    I'm confused now.

Yeh,apparently it was the Arboretum,in Derby! But, Birkenhead was, the first publically funded park!(as opposed to private landowners) A good programme, even though Dan Cruikshank gets on my ***!
