Can anyone tell me where I can find any information about the above address where William and Mary Kay were Publicans in 1871 and 1881 respectively. It has been suggested thet it was "The Star"

Hi Trees,
In 1891 52 Liverpool Road Eccleston was occupied by John G Wallbridge aged 24 who was a Chemist & Druggist so it doesn't seem to have remained a public house for long. It was totally unoccupied in 1901.
Lancashire - Eccleston was a large census admin area. The description in the 1881 census for the district for 52 Liverpool Road Eccleston says :
Commencing at the South Side of Westfield Sreet by the Boundary Brook, up the South side of Westfield St to the Red, White and Blue Inn & down the North side of Liverpool Road by the Boundary Brook including Arthur Street, Waterloo Place, St Thomas Street, Hardy Street, Russel Street, Edward Street and Crook Street.
This places the address closer to St Helens and by 1901 it was part of Lancashire - St Helens census district. Having checked current maps for you, a part of Liverpool Road seems to have survived and can be found by using the postcode WA10 1PQ or on page 45 of the current Liverpool a-z grid ref 5f.
