Question Missing Street Dept.- Everton's ROSE VALE

Hi ok, I know it's actually still there :smirk , but I am wondering where the middle of it has gone?!
Part of it is off Great Homer St and the other half off Netherfield Rd. So I am wondering why the part off Great Homer was given the same name, if perchance they were never joined initially... I had kin at No. 85, which end would that land on? Thanks in advance! Pooiver

Rose Vale ran from Great Homer St up to Netherfield rd! The top half was completely destroyed by german bombers during the 2nd world war.

A photo of the damage. Rose Vale is on the right hand side in the distance!

Hello poolofliver. Plenty of Rose Vale pics on my site below. Check out both the pre war and post war pages.

As Samp correctly states, it did run as one long street but is now fractured in the middle.

    Samp & Ged,
How distressing that must have been! And to have a reminder for so long. Having been lucky to not have experienced that kind of destruction in Canada, it never occured to me that German Bombers would be the cause for the halving of a street! It just is mind boggling...
Ged I promise to get to your site!!

Ged, I did hit your site but I will have to go back again and again and again! It's almost as good as being there! Many thanks for all your efforts!
I treated myself to a LARGE map of Liverpool on the weekend. Only had to mortgage the garage for it! Now I am looking for a reliable magnifying glass! I did note that the area between the two Rose Vales seems to have a circular pattern resembling a park perhaps. Good to see it being redeveloped.
