In 1911 there was miles upon miles of docks that stretched along the Mersey. Liverpool had an overhead railway system [operating from 1893 until 1956] to serve them all, so dockers weren't limited to living within walking distance of any one dock. They perhaps would have wanted to live within walking distance of one of the stations en route? But I think it's going to be impossible for you to find a causal link between where someone lived and where they worked in the docks this way.

I'm surprised there's nothing in the local press? I thought all drownings would be reported? I'll have another look?
