    Default Afternoon tea, what, what

Well I was going to wait for Spike to start this but I'd be waiting as long as it takes EFC to win something Only kidding now, don't be starting.

Anyway a few people Spike - Johny Blue and I, were invited out on Wednesday afternoon.
What with our contacts in high places and all.
Well OK, we know Harry Rimmer and he got us a day pass into the Town Hall, but that didn't sound as good.
Anyway, we were all taken aback really at the reception we got.
Not only did we have a silver service tea ( poured for us ) but the Mayoress also popped in for a chat. The service was great and we were made very welcome, us humble scallies, sitting in the Parlour, drinking tea, superb.
Onto some pics, mine are not so good so I'll presume Spike or Johnny Blue will add theirs to the thread !Click image for larger version.

When it was refurbished, to the highest possible standard, by Hynde Construction in teh mid 90's, even the toilets were taken seriously. Some of the broken tiles were hand crafted in the potteries with the exact colour match

I'm afraid its only for the "Upper Crust".
We got well looked after and Harry did the tour, with a running commentary, really enjoyed it.
The Mayoress really did pop in to see us too, it was an honour

Cool. Short sleeves and rolled up sleeves. Must have been casual Friday,

The Town Hall is an excellent building so it is Martin.
Glad you had the chance to have the guided tour. A unique historic 18th Century Grade 1 Listed building, remind me Martin, when was this built...? 1760's? Also did you se the Hall of rememberance for those sadly killed in 1st World War?
