It is Accomplished
This appeared recently on Tom Slemen's forum. It is a post by Tom himself...
"I was lucky enough to be given permission by Merseyside Police to view the files on the case. I was shown the mortuary photographs of Julia Wallace, including close-ups of the back of her head to show the damage done by the weapon.
I'm currently writing a book on the case which makes a mockery of Goodman's book (which is irritatingly interlaced with quotes from Alice in Wonderland). It wasn't Parry.
So many people got in touch with me when I broadcast a radio dramatisation for BBC Radio Merseyside a few years ago. I have so many new leads and scraps of previously unheard of information to put in the book.
Incidentally, I not only proof-read The Murder of Julia Wallace by James Murphy, I urged my publisher to print it, even though Murphy believed Wallace did it."
Not sure how it will make a mockery out of Goodman's volume...

Doesn't Tom and his sidekick think the Johnson's did the evil deed as has the word of a nurse about a deathbed confession etc etc...?
Given that the late Jonathan Goodman has a well-earned sizeable reputation as a crime writer, I also doubt that Mr. Slemen's book could make a mockery out of Goodman's book on the Wallace case.
Mark, aren't you working on a book on the case? Where do you stand with it?

I agree Chris...
I want to access the remaining files at the National Archive in Kew before I commit anything 100%...I've been writing bits here and there but want to see the other files first.
Yes Ged - I think Slemen is putting all his belief in information he has received from others...I don't think it can give us a total solution to the case - after all, it is only hearsay.

Wallace claimed he boarded the No.26 tram at this corner. Sheil Road is facing.

Really good photos Mark. Especially Holy Trinity, which I've always found hard to photograph - because to get a full view you have to stand back by the Cabbage Hall side and usually the traffic spoils the image. Standing in Richmond Park is too cramped to get a full view. Also, I've found that the light is never quite right - always seems to be in shade and the church doesn't show up well.
Yours is the best photo I've seen of Holy Trin.
Great photies and I agree a crackin' one of the church, even with the Richmond Park street sign in view.
