A photo thread on Liverpools Dockland ?... Heaven !!...now I'm at home...

A view from the Bascule Bridge across the Collingwood and Salisbury docks..
with the 1848 Jesse Hartley Victoria Tower in the distance.. (the dockers clock.)

This photo is best >>> VIEWED LARGE..

A view across where the Clarence dock power station once stood..
with The Stanley Tobacco Warehouse in the distance..

This photo is best >>> VIEWED LARGE..

This area is now the new Liverpool canal link..
the docks and harbour board buidings in the distance have now gone..
a new bridge stands there.. this is now filled in with water and in operation as the canal.

This photo is best >>> VIEWED LARGE..

The stern of the I O M ferry the old Ben-my-Chree at the pierhead in the early sixties.when ships were ships. The colour is a bit strange because it`s from one of my slides

Promises. Promises. Not you -- me: I need to get my slides from the Sixties digitized. I have a number of pics of the southern docks and also a nice one of my late uncle Haydn George (my dad's elder brother) with a Seacombe ferryboat in the background.

Thanks Chris, meet your brother I have loads of negatives and slides to do yet. It`s a catch 22, do I stay in and scan my old ones or do I go out and take new ones.

Looks like a lookout tower and pump house combined.

It was a pump house, the last time I was in the area the Red Cross were using it.
