A section from my school photograph from Spring 1964. Mr Phil Deadman was our phys ed master. The Morrison or Rose Lane School was located at the corner of Rose Lane and Mather Avenue in Allerton. It is now the site of a large Tesco's supermarket.

Funny, when I was pupil - pulling down schools was a good idea. Now I think differently.

You are right George. The next shot (Stan always took severaal of each street) clearly shows the Astoria a few yards further down the street.
What happened to the next pic you were going to show in the Walton Road/Great Mersey Street thread? Colin.

Has anyone got any good photos of Tiber Street school in Lodge Lane? Although a primary school it 'stood in' as a secondary for the making of Willy Russell's film 'Our Day Out'.

I passed that former school on Stanley Road last week. It looked to be closed (it had been Cherubs nursery). It has some stone children heads at the rear.

    Hi,

I'd like to add a couple of things to this wonderful thread.

First off is a thread containing many images of Liverpool Schools: http://www.yoliverpool.com/forum/sho...chool-Pictures

Secondly is an image of St Bridget's School, Limekiln Lane from 1927, courtesy of Liverpool Records Office.
