    Default Car Park Panorama

A strickly non glam part of the city.

I took this sequence of images from the brown brick spiral ramp overlooking Roe Street and St John's Lane. I can't remember the exact date they were all taken - but it must somewhere around twenty years ago?
As a child I remember sliding down the sloping paving flags by the bus shelters. Another pair of school pants ruined!

It should be of interest to repeat the sequence, just to see how things have developed, maybe.
Fun Pub? Is this one for pre-teens?
    Good shots Daza.

    Great photos, Dazza.
The new Queens Square is there now.

A car spotter would be able to date it.
My car spotting days were behind me by then.
    C reg was 1986, I think.

Hot air balloon? Cherry-picker? Where there is a will there is a way.

    Thanks for all the comments.

Time and place: they were on a spool of film with some old college pics on them, so it must be 1991. The pictures were taken for a project. The latest car registration I could see on the photo's was "E" [01 August 1987 - 31 July 1988]; the cars themselves don't look new though. Nice idea Quentin, thanks .

Oudeis - I would love to repeat the view [with the loan of a cherry-picker] but I guess we'd run into the new Queen's Square buildings. It would be good to see the comparison though.

    Thanks Martin,

The green fluorescent sign above the door says "CASPERS" and Casper [with baloons] can be seen painted white above where it says "FUN PUB".

It was "Rockford's first! I got shown around, while they were renovating the building. Didn't Ged have something to do with this,or was that Dr.Duncan's?

Hi Steve. Both Mart and I were part of the 30 strong YTS (with about half a dozen tradesmen) in helping renovate that building. Everything from demolishing the old to installing the new including the offices upstairs.
