They all look so sullen and miserable. It's like seeing the young girls with the prams, they all look so depressed. It must be awful hard though when you're a kid yourself bringing up kids.

I have seen many girls who seem to treat their babies as "dolls" !, perhaps many of them should still be playing with them...

My girls friends all have kids themselves. Some are quite big too. The first one was around 13 years old. Tragic.

I was old when I got married and it terrified me. Couldn't have coped before I was 20. Still causing me mayhem...

Pity no one has any more recent pic's of that corner, quite a few of the opposite side, with "Bunney's" store, etc! Talking of ghost town's,does anyone here visit Widnes? There's a big shopping development, just out of town, which means the centre is empty! It reminds me of some Lowry pic'!

Widnes is pretty dire these days. Runcorn is the same. Yet if you look at Chester, it has a booming town centre. Wrexham has improved no end neither.

(No, I don't actually remember, but I've got a street directory.)
I don't know if the new building was built for them, Mothercare, or somebody in-between.
    Thank you Quentin; much appreciated

    Cheer up, George.

I didn't know Ethel Austin were there.
Not the type of shop I frequented.

I can tell you where all the bookshops were!

    Thanks, Partsky.
