Hah,ok it wasn't you then,my chilhood sweetheart lived the other side of St Domingo in the masionets opposite Tommy whites.
She dinna want to go out with me for ages,after me tea I'd go and sit on the wall of Tommy whites waiting for her to come across and say ok...done that for days(or was it weeks?) until she said ok...and she did.
What was the name of the pub at the top of Adelaide Street opposite Tommy Whites? Was it 'The Adelaide'?
If it was on the corner?then yes it would have been The Adelaide.
I think this is it,changed since then as its the clock now?

A Bass Charrington pub as I recall. It wasn't the Spion Kop.
I'm not sure George , i never went in any of the pubs there , i was too young , they were old peoples pubs , i think the little off licence was in Devonshire place , it could well have been called by a different name . I don't recall a pub called the Adelaide though , was that there before the clock ? Do you remember the Beacon Light on Mere Lane ?
