Yes, it's a terrible shame the way the building has been left to rot. I can't understand why it's just been abandoned - likewise the one on Green lane by Lister drive.
It's a sin to see such two lovely buildings abandoned and crumbling.

I had another nose inside old Everton Library last week, its in a terrible mess, On the bright side there is a heritage group been formed to save the old building, but it looks as though they wont have enough money to save the inside, I have offered to paint the old spiral staircase.

Who's THEY? If you really care, take the initiative and OCCUPY the building!

Ok, Cameron will claim the credit, Big Society and all, but WE'll know the truth, won't we? (We can always send him the bill later!)

If you bothered yourself with finding out about it like we did in attending St Georges Church meeting last month - 3 of us coming from miles away, then you'd know. Occupying it won't get anything done any quicker and would probably only slow it down.

If the Florrie can be brought back to life from the state it was in then restoring Everton library should be a piece of cake - providing the money can be found and there's the rub.

    Any updates from this?

I thought Heritage Works themselves have gone bust through lack of funding?
